The National Assembly will call for a special session next week to pass the overhaul of the Bill for Disarmament and Ammo Control, informed its head Cilia Flores. The legislation that was passed in its first reading on January 28 includes 52 new articles.

during the first half of this year, up 25.5% from the same period in 2009. Also 449 were injured, up 30.9% from the first half last year. All this according to figures from the Venezuelan Prison Observatory (OVP) made public on Wednesday.

This Wednesday, Venezuelan Energy and Oil Minister and head of PDVSA Rafael Ramírez inaugurated a gas cylinder recycling center in Maracaibo, Zulia state. He said that thanks to the activation of a double shift, the Maracaibo LP gas filling plant went from producing 4,000 cylinders to 8,000 cylinders a day.
